| Users review: A tale of super-mutants developed in the struggle against human oppressors, X-Men an instant sci-fi classic, combining amazing special effects with an involving plot to create a truly memorable cinematic experience.Lacking tongue-in-cheek camp last Batman movies and other recent comic-turned movies, draw X-Men audience into his world of mutants and super powers, preventing it from become sticky or absurd. Not to say that there is no humor in the film, in fact it delivers some of the best one liners in a movie this year.It is a rare thing for an action game with good results, but with an actor who does, save Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen is required to be above average. Both Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier) and McKellen (Magneto) provides outstanding performance, and their chemistry screen is convincing because they play two old friends turned arch enemies.The rest of the actors deliver solid performances, including Hollywood newcomer Hugh Jackman as Wolverine Oscar-winner Anna Paquin as Rogue, and another rising star Rebecca Romijn-Stamos as the seductive but deadly Mystique.A classic Bera : eport of good and evil, heroes, villains, and great special effects I do not think it goes too far to say that X-Men is intended to be mentioned in the same breath like Star Wars and other all-time sci-fi greats. |
