| Users review: Java Man reviews Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince LakewoodBuzz.com originally appeared in the July, 2009.OVERVIEW: The film opens with our hero, Harry (Radcliffe), hanging on a late-night café? perusing his copy of the Daily Prophet and flirting with a waitress dramatically. They make a date for the end of his shift, but Harry could not keep him because he was whisked away from his Beardness, Professor Albus Dumbledore (Gambon). They fly at night and get home of Horace Slughorn (Broadbent), a former lecturer Hogwarts Dumbledore who is trying to win back her old detyrëne as Professor of Potions. Slugborn, with its unique teknikëne recall memories of the past, can be a key to the psychology of Tom Riddle, a former student who is already on, vile Lord Voldemort. So begins the adventure of six Harry and his friends Hermione and Ron conjuring (Watson and Grint) as they share their timing between studying magic and the looming confrontation with Voldemort.Oh, and Slugborn crazy mixes a Humdinger of a love potion.REVIEW: 3 1/2 weeks 4 mugs apart from the fact that they are both British, and each is destined to save the world, Harry Potter and James Bond is no other thing in common: their movie franchise entered the office meets the highest ever box, Bond Potter likely to pass, the time you read this. Another issue that might please fans of Potter is to have ten Best Picture nominees this year, instead of five, giving Potter cast and crew a pretty good chance to work some magic on the red carpet story. the only one set-up for the last episode of the series, an interesting set-up, but a set-up however. However, it works. I felt most spectacular midnight patronëte gone where I worked would have plunked down good money to see these two movies are coming dawn.There more attention paid to the characters than the previous Potter outings, but some of our favorite villains make only token appearances. The dynamic Bellatrix Lestrange Death Eaters and deliciously evil (Bonham Carter) has very few scenes, and Voldemort look like just an ominous cloud of stars. Not to worry, though. We definitely try to see more of them in 2010 and 2011 when the series ends with the making of the film of the last book into two parts.The performances are up to the high standards set. Radcliffe and Watson are good, as usual, and Grint have much more to do this go-around and done it well. Of course the Hogwarts faculty, portrayed by British acting legends like Smith and Gambon, is a joy to watch. Rickman as Snape and newcomers Broadbent as Slugborn is standouts.Director Yates and his team have created an even worse and more sinister Hogwarts, no doubt preparing for the dark theme to follow. Atmospheric cinematography in Norway, the Scottish Highlands and dozens of prep school English skillfully combined backdrops provide outstanding visual effects. |
