| Users review: Think that this movie will not win Best is a crime. Steven Spielberg uses all the talent and resources to provide the greatest war movie ever made.Though world is right here is not that kind of movie , you want to sit down with the family and eat popcorn, my feelings date from the pictures, message spirited storytelling, superb acting and actors and draw you into a world that is both dangerous and unpredictable.Spielberg is you can take action and make you feel as if you are a participant in the film and not just a spectator. This is Tom Hanks best movie that he ever made. Forget his performances in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump (although they are great): he should have received an Oscar for the role of captain. John Miller, a leader must act strong in front of everyone, but also to hide his feelings from them. It has been well deserved if he won again.I give this film my highest recommendation. Saving Private Ryan is a film that makes you realize how precious life is and how to honor and duty, although they are , the deep philosophical concepts praised war, can put you at risk of losing your life for something you can believe in |

Opening with the Allied invasion of Normandy June 6, 1944 members of other Ranger Battalion under Cpt. Miller fight ashore to secure a beachhead. Amidst the fighting, two brothers are killed in action. Earlier in New Guinea, a third brother is KIA. Their mother, Mrs. Ryan, is to receive all three of the grave telegrams on the same day.
