| Users review: When the original version of Oldboy is a perfect 10 of 10, this is a mixed 6 10.At first, I just got back from the theater, and I found this movie very bad remake, if you compare it with excellence, complexity and power of Asian movies. This film is pure brilliance. So this new version is very promising, but it raises the bar too high.From Spike Lee, we would expect truly mesmerizing film or very weak. And in this case I would say that it is not as bad as it seems here. Obviously, some people are obviously going too far. Its frustrating film, but not a bad movie. It focuses too much blood and bloody site scripting and complexity of the characters and situations. Finally, it can be quite upsetting for some viewers.Josh Brolin is one of the best things about this version. His performance is as good as he always does his role. Magic break between average or good. There's nothing remarkable in my watch.So, Oldboy is not brilliant and powerful film remake, but interesting. It is a strange and bloody. Be ready for it. |
